Project Open Arms recognizes how very difficult it is for children engaged in a struggle to save their young lives after having been diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

Our organization purchases teddy bears, which contain a loving personalized message recorded by someone special to the child. We know that there are many times when the children will be separated from those whom they love and who help to calm their fears and sadness. All costs associated with the bear will be paid for by funds raised for the purpose of providing them to the children free of charge. No individual is receiving a salary at Project Open Arms.

We at Project Open Arms believe very strongly in the power of a loved one’s voice to a frightened child. The world in which a child enters upon such a diagnosis is one of pain, fear, sadness and separation. As parents ourselves, we know the unique and special bond that exists between a parent and a child. We believe that a loved one’s special message will serve as a healing source. We have combined the magic of a soft, cuddly teddy bear and a supporting message to help whenever that special magic is needed either to calm a fear, to soothe or to offer courage in the face of a difficult task.

Project Open Arms is a very simple concept which will continue to give love and smiles with your generous support. The hope is that medical treatment will heal the body but our wish is that the teddy bear will help to heal the heart.
